Discover the charm, color, and creativity of Lake Atitlán’s lakeside villages on this exciting ATV cultural adventure. Perfect for those seeking a mix of local tradition, breathtaking views, and hands-on experiences, this tour takes you through two of the region’s most iconic towns — Santa Catarina Palopó and San Antonio Palopó.
Starting from our office in Panajachel, we begin our scenic ride along the lake’s edge, heading to the vibrant village of Santa Catarina Palopó, known for its painted blue houses, traditional weavings, and warm local culture. Here, you’ll explore the village plaza and artisan markets, and visit a local coffee house where you can grind and taste freshly roasted local beans.
After immersing in Santa Catarina’s artistry, we continue to the nearby town of San Antonio Palopó, known for its unique ceramic and pottery craftsmanship. Upon arrival, we visit a ceramic factory where you’ll see firsthand the traditional process of creating these beautiful hand-painted pieces. We also stop by a local chocolate factory, where you’ll learn how cacao is transformed into rich, flavorful chocolate — with the chance to sample some yourself.
After exploring, we ride back to Panajachel, passing through scenic roads with panoramic lake views, wrapping up an enriching and fun cultural experience. - Schedule (Detailed):
