Tour Description

The Pacaya Volcano is one of Guatemala’s most active and fascinating volcanoes, rising approximately 2,500 meters above sea level. Its dramatic landscapes of lush forest, lava fields, and volcanic rock formations make it a truly unforgettable adventure.

This unique experience takes you by ATV through the villages and trails surrounding the volcano. You’ll explore diverse terrain—from forest paths to black volcanic sand and petrified lava flows—and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Calderas Lagoon and the surrounding volcanoes.

You’ll visit several scenic stops, hike portions of the volcanic slope, and even drive through a private plantation with lava fields. The route, trails, and stops may vary depending on weather conditions and volcanic activity.

Please note: This tour does not go to the San Vicente Pacaya National Park.

Meet at Simoon Office to depart for Pacaya Volcano Tour

10:15 A.M.

Arrival at San Vicente Pacaya, prepare and begin ATV adventure

11:30 A.M.

Stop at Calderas Lagoon for scenic views and photos

12:00 P.M.

Depart from the Lagoon and begin ride around the base of the volcano via dirt trails and main roads

12:30 P.M.

Arrive at the “Four Corners” lava rivers

1:15 P.M.

Depart “Four Corners” and head to Finca Buena Vista (Petrified Lava Fields)

2:00 P.M.

Arrive at Finca Buena Vista, explore lava fields and enjoy the landscape

2:45 P.M.

Depart from Finca Buena Vista and return to the office in San Vicente Pacaya

3:30 P.M.

Return ATVs, prepare for return trip to Antigua

5:00 P.M.

Arrival back at Simoon Office in Antigua
