Experience one of Guatemala’s most pristine ecosystems on this immersive birdwatching and wildlife expeditionthrough the Puerto Arturo Wildlife Reserve, located deep within the Maya Biosphere. This tranquil refuge is home to over 300 bird species, monkeys, crocodiles, turtles, and countless other tropical inhabitants.

Ideal for nature enthusiasts and photographers, this journey offers a peaceful encounter with Petén’s biodiversity — far from crowds and surrounded by the sights and sounds of untouched rainforest and shimmering lagoons.

Itinerary

Day 1 Departure from Flores / Arrival at Puerto Arturo
Depart Flores at 8:00 AM toward the Puerto Arturo Reserve. Enjoy a scenic drive followed by a boat ride across the lagoon, where your wildlife adventure begins. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch, then spend the afternoon observing local fauna and bird species. Dinner and overnight stay in the reserve.

Day 2 Birdwatching & Wildlife Exploration
Wake up early for a guided birdwatching tour at sunrise, when the forest comes alive with color and sound. Breakfast is followed by a boat excursion through the lagoon to spot crocodiles, herons, and turtles. Afternoon at leisure for rest, photography, or additional wildlife walks. Dinner and overnight in camp.

Day 3 Return to Flores
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning walk before returning by boat and land transport to Flores, arriving around midday.
